October 3rd - 6th
The Biggest Little Book Festival in Pennsylvania
Now in its seventh year, the Harrisburg Book Festival is proudly hosted by the Midtown Scholar Bookstore. Featuring celebrity authors, award-winning poets, children’s illustrators, emerging novelists, acclaimed historians — surrounded by hundreds of thousands of books at one of the nation’s most celebrated independent bookstores — the Harrisburg Book Festival is the literary destination for book lovers across Pennsylvania.
More than just a party, the book festival is an ode to a city rich with historical significance. With its pristine location on the Susquehanna River, Harrisburg is the home of the Pennsylvania State Capitol Complex, the Harrisburg Senators, the Harrisburg Heat, the National Civil War Museum, the State Museum of Pennsylvania — and now, one of the largest book festivals in Pennsylvania. With its burgeoning literary community of readers and writers, Harrisburg deserves nothing less.
Our mission of the festival is simple — we want to amplify and celebrate the diverse voices our world has to offer. Stories make sense of the world around us; they allow us empathize with others — to be kinder — and to make our communities better places to live. Reading has always been more than a solitary act — and we want the Harrisburg Book Festival to be the literary epicenter of those stories we cherish.
So tell your friends, family, neighbors, and book clubs — because we’re throwing a party for books the likes of which Harrisburg hasn’t seen before. See you in October.
